Corporate social Responsibility
As part producing our product we give emphasis to the society of chancho. From the day we commence our operations we have made a lot of efforts to give back to the community we are serving, our company, Abyssinia cement, believes the factory belongs not only to the owners & employees but the society as well. Below we have listed the responsibility we have committed so far.
Eco-friendliness
We tend to keep the environment with less carbon emission. By adopting waste recycling system, we opted not to pollute the community living around.
Promoting equality, diversity & inclusiveness:
We have created more than 100 permanent and temporary jobs. Even though more than 30% of our employees are from the chancho locality, we have a fair share of diverse employees from several woredas of oromia and other part of Ethiopia.
Giving back to the community
Abyssinia cement has a CSR scheme called “giving back to the community”. We have allotted 1% of our profit to build a basic infrastructure for the locality. For the 2022/23 FY we have constructed a bore whole and give access to clean water for more than 5000 peoples living across.
