Abyssinia Cements PLC is a cement manufacturing company producing OPC & PPC cements in Ethiopia. Our factory is located in Chancho, Oromia Region. Our cement has a minimum compressive strength of 43MPa. The quality of the Cement is approved by the Quality and Standards Authority of Ethiopia. We supply in 50 kg bags. Our brand is TENKARA CEMENT. Established with an initial investment outlay of 100 Million ETB,
The plant has the capacity to produce more than 500 ton per day, with an expansion plan set to double that amount. In less than 3 years the company plan to produce more than 2000 ton a day. Our company, which sells its product under the trade mark “tenkara siminto” – meaning “strong cement” in Amharic-also secured an accreditation letter from the quality & standard authority of Ethiopia, which certified that the product conforms to Ethiopia’s standard.

About Us
Abyssinia Cement PLC was established in 2005 as per the Commercial code of Ethiopia with a paid up capital of one hundred fifty one million ETB (151,000,000). So far it has been engaged in cement manufacturing, other construction input and industrial input manufacturing and distributing both to the local & international markets.
Abyssinia Cement PLC is located at Oromia National Regional State, North Showa Zone, and Sululta Woreda, Chancho, Buba Kebele .The factory is constructed in a premise of 8.2 hectares. The location of the plant one of the most suitable sites for cement production due to the availability of the infrastructure to the raw materials, market place, skilled human resource, and urban facilities as it is 42 km distant from Addis Ababa.
Abyssinia cement plant was acquired by new local investors March 2023 GC. After the new owners were introduced lots of improvements were made including but not limited to increasing the production capacity, making the work environment safe & conducive to its employees, hiring both permanent & temporary work forces both from the locality & other part of the country as well. In order to properly undertake and perform the production and marketing of the products, the company has employed qualified and experienced managerial and professional employees at various positions.
The top management of the company is composed of highly qualified and professional personnel. The work experience as well as educational background of most of the senior management members is directly related to the manufacturing activities which gives added value to manage business properly and effectively.
